Salman Khan Love story

Salman Khan & Ash Love story

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her hubby Abhishek Bachchan are nowadays correcting the media, for calling Aishwarya with her full name and not with ASH. On a recent fashion show press met, Aishwarya Rai also clarified that she will be pleased to hear her name spelt in full, rather than in the chopped version.

The same thing is said to be in the mind of Abhishek Bachchan, who on a jig wit his mommy Jaya Bachchan at a party, replied to some media sources that his wife’s name is Aishwarya and not ash.

Well, why are the bachchan pariwar behind the ASH name, correcting it out as Aishwarya. After a good probe, here is the actual truth and the reason behind, the bachchan pariwar correcting their bahu’s name as Aishwarya and not ASH.

During the making of ‘ Hum dil de chuke Sanam’ Ash was first called on the sets, with the pet name by Salman Khan, who also leaked the matter to the media and from then on Aishwarya Rai is pronounced as ASH by the media.

Robot Movie Review

Robot Movie Review
One, it's difficult to conceptualize and execute a film like ROBOT.
Two, when Rajinikant's name comes in the credits, one cannot hear anything for the next two minutes. His name is greeted with a thunderous applause, whistles yells and cheers. Such is the charisma of this superstar.
ROBOT, directed by Shankar, is a Rajnikant Express that transports you to a world you can't envision. Rajnikant's feats are legendary by now. In ROBOT, he goes a step further. The Robot in ROBOT not only follows orders of his creator, but also cooks, fights, romances and wonder of wonders, has a lengthy conversation with a mosquito and scan loads of books/magazines and an entire telephone directory in a second. Yes, you read it right!

That's not all, this Robot is Superman + Spiderman + Terminator + Godzilla, all rolled into one. There's more to this Robot. It can replicate itself, wage a vicious battle, turn into an Anaconda or a monster ball and wipe off an entire army. Whew! Known for larger than life canvas, ROBOT is Shankar's most expensive and if I may say so, his most imaginative film thus far. And who better than Rajnikant for the pivotal role!

Final word? A Rajnikant film is an event and this combo's [Shankar - Rajnikant] new outing ROBOT is sure to strike like Tsunami. Let me make it short-n-sweet. If you miss ROBOT, it's YOUR loss!

Location: Chennai 2010. Mission: Creating a robot Chitti. Purpose: To help the society. Development time: 10 years. Special Features: A human who is not born, but is created. He can dance, sing, fight, is water and fire resistant. He can do all that a human can and more. He feeds on electricity. He takes instructions literally. Where a human can lie to save himself, this robot cannot lie.

Where he has a razor sharp memory and can memorize an entire telephone directory by just running through the pages, he cannot understand human emotions. Dr. Vasi upgrades Chitti's processor and simulates human emotions without realizing the repercussions. Chitti gets transformed. He can now feel and the first feeling that he discovers is Love. Will this love come in the way of Dr. Vasi's purpose of creating Chitti? Will Dr. Vasi's own creation destroy him?
A title like ROBOT automatically puts tremendous responsibility and pressure on the director's shoulders. And ROBOT is not merely a display of VFX, but it also has soul, a story to tell. At first, ROBOT comes across as a clash between the virtuous [Rajnikant] and wicked [Danny Denzongpa]. But ROBOT changes gears in its post-interval portions as the focus shifts to the creator [Rajnikant] and his creation [Rajnikant].

It's a Rajnikant film and it would be incomplete if his loyal fans don't get to watch his stylish actions and feats. Thankfully, ROBOT showcases it all. He can glide on the railway tracks, run horizontally on a moving train, transform into an Anaconda, can swallow helicopters and even fire at people with his fingers, without using a pistol. These are truly clap-trap moments!

Even otherwise, the screenplay is really well penned and absorbing. While the film is a super ride from start to end, it's the penultimate 25 minutes that leaves you awe-struck and speechless. You can't imagine a Hindi film having such an out of the world climax. There will be pandemonium inside theatres when the climax unfolds, I am sure. Let me confess, it's the mother of all climaxes!

Only thing, Shankar could've controlled the length of the film. It could've been shorter by at least 10 to 15 minutes, which includes doing away with a song or two. Of course, like all Shankar movies, the songs are filmed most imaginatively on exotic locales, but what's the point of having songs if they act as speed breakers?

That Shankar ranks amongst India's best directors is well known by now and ROBOT only cements the fact. His vision and execution of the difficult subject deserves the highest praise, in fact distinction marks. He not only dreams big, but the outcome is incredible too. A.R. Rahman's music doesn't compliment the content of the film, but like I pointed out earlier, every song has been filmed exquisitely. The action and chase sequences are outstanding [Yuen Woo Ping, action choreographer in the MATRIX and KILL BILL sequels, was the stunt coordinator]. Visual effects are spectacular [Stan Winston Studio, the studio behind JURASSIC PARK, PREDATOR, TERMINATOR, IRON MAN, AVATAR, provided the animatronics technology]. Cinematography captures the grand production values with precision. The locations of Austria, Machu Picchu in Peru, U.S.A. and Brazil only enhance the visual appeal of the film. The sets are mind-blowing. Dubbing is near-perfect.

Possessive Neil

The new relationship in his real life seems to have started forming with his leading lady from film Lafangey Parindey. But before you get any ideas in your mind, It is good to know that, Neil and Deepika really are very good friends. The actress has been going around city telling everyone about possessive Neil, that how great the light-eyed actor is. On the other hand, Neil also can’t stop talking about his gorgeous co-star. While he says “But I would rather like to talk about her as a person than as an actor,” he adds, “I keep telling her that her cute smile is one curved line that makes everything in this world go straight.” Neil describes Deepika as a cool, easy-going and simple girl.
It is said that, “Love makes the world go round”. But it looks like Neil Nitin Mukesh is a firm film believer of the idiom. He says, “All the characters that I’ve played whether it was in Johnny Gaddar or Jail have behaved in the way they have because of love!”. Also in his next releasing film Lafangey Parindey, Neil has romanced with the lovely Deepika Padukone which has formed the focal point of the story. Though at the time of those movies we haven’t come across possessive Neil, which in this case has been talk of the town.

Don’t be taken away by the rough promos of Lafangey Parindey, Neil would rather describe it as a gritty love story instead. Neil Nitin Mukesh says, “My character in this movie is One Shot Nandu. He is a regular boy who is rebellious and ambitious and likes making his decisions on his own”.

What we are more interested in, is knowing about Neil’s love story in real life rather than his reel life love story. The actor, who broke off with his girlfriend back some time, is back on the single track. “But I do believe whole-heartedly in love and relationships,” he smile fully adds up.
“I am the one who feels real protective and possessive about her. She’s now a part of my family” the talented actor tells our reporter. Well now when Deepika has been the first actress to be kissed on-screen by Neil Nitin Mukesh who is quite shy in his real life, utna huq toh banta hai possessive Neil ka, we guess! What say Deepika?

Sonam had crush on Shaan

Sonam had crush on Shaan
Sonam was sitting exactly next to the singer and was seen blushing big time according to people from the sets of the show. She admitted that she used to have a big crush on Shaan and has found herself quite lucky to sit next to him and judge the show.”
Sonam was looking absolutely vivacious in a very gorgeous sari. It was quite a surprise for everyone to see her in traditional outfit, considering her close association with big brands nowadays.
The sizzling Sonam Kapoor, made a guest appearance in a T.V show recently. But very few people might know this that Sonam has had a really long time crush on Shaan- the very versatile singer.

For the promotion of her latest film ‘Aisha’, she had come on the sets of Chhote Ustaad. Chhote Ustaad is talent hunts show where in little kids showcase their singing skills.

Coincidently, Shaan was also was called on the show to make an appearance. The actress was at her best when she was on the sets of the talent show. Last Friday was the day when ‘Aisha’ was released and she was looking quite excited about her movie

Hollywood story of

Hollywood story Oscar battle a classic

And even their movies have something in common: Kathryn Bigelow's The Hurt Locker, a tense drama set among American soldiers who defuse bombs in the Iraq war and Canadian filmmaker James Cameron's Avatar, a big-budget fantasy that sends American soldiers to a distant planet to pacify the natives and steal their riches.
The move was meant to add some more populist titles to the list, but those who were hoping for the Academy to step out and include the raunchy comedy The Hangover or the relaunch of the fanboy epic Star Trek were disappointed (although that movie got four nominations in technical categories.) The one bow to convention was the nomination for The Blind Side, the Sandra Bullock crowd-pleaser — based on a true story — about a white family that adopts a poor black boy and helps him become a football star.

Aside from that, the best picture nominees are just a more diverse collection of the kind of critical darlings that mark the Oscars, although even there the academy can be hard to decipher. For instance Up — an animated movie that tells the touching story of an old man who takes a trip to South America, fulfilling a promise he made to his late wife — is nominated for best picture and also as best animated movie, part of its collection of five nominations. It becomes only the second animated film to be nominated in the best picture category, after Beauty and the Beast in 1992.

Meanwhile, the well-received Crazy Heart isn't on the list, although it did get three nominations in other categories.
Inglourious Basterds, Quentin Tarantino's Second World War fantasy — and recipient of eight nominations — in which a group of American soldiers sets out to slaughter Nazis and winds up with the entire German high command in an exploding movie theatre;

Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire — which got six nominations — the grim but hopeful story of a young black woman who fights out of a horrific childhood of abuse and neglect to find her own life;

Up in the Air, an early Oscar front-runner, directed by another Canadian, Jason Reitman, about a businessman who flies around the U.S. to help businesses lay off excess employees. In total, it got six nominations, including its entire main cast;

District 9, a metaphorical sci-fi film set in South Africa in which invading aliens are locked in apartheid-type camps, which received four nominations. It was directed by Neill Blomkamp, a South African-born filmmaker who now lives in Vancouver;

An Education, another based-on-truth story about a young woman's coming-of-age in 1960s London when she meets an older man. It got three nominations in total;

And A Serious Man, the Coen Brothers film, inspired by their own father, about a university professor who suffers the torments of Job when everything in his life starts going wrong.

Notable by their absence are Invictus, the true story of how a South African rugby team helped heal the wounds of apartheid, and Nine, the big-budget musical whose star, Daniel Day-Lewis, was also snubbed.

The race for best actor is dominated by Jeff Bridges, a five-time nominee who has never won an Oscar, although he did get the Golden Globe award for his portrayal of a down-and-out country singer in Crazy Heart. His closest competition will come from George Clooney, who brings his smooth charm to the role of the corporate downsizer in Up in the Air.

In the best actress category, the race is thought to be between Bullock, whose performance of the feisty mother in The Blind Side is a departure from her reputation as a romantic-comedy sweetheart, and Meryl Streep, earning a record 16th nomination for her hilariously immaculate impersonation of Julia Child in Julie & Julia.

In the best director race, Bigelow — who recently won the Directors Guild of America prize, a fairly reliable indicator of Oscar success — and Cameron are facing off against Tarantino, Reitman and Lee Daniels, director of Precious, and only the second African-American director (after John Singleton in 1991) to be nominated in the category. The most notable absentee is Hollywood favourite Clint Eastwood, who directed Invictus.

Next target for 'Magnificent Mary': medal at London Olympics

Next target for 'Magnificent Mary': medal at London Olympics

A historic fifth successive World Championship gold medal under her belt but star Indian woman boxer M C Mary Kom remains hungry for more and will not consider hanging up her gloves before finishing on podium at the 2012 London Olympics. The 27-year-old mother-of-two from Manipur brushed aside the rising international competition in women's boxing to clinch a fifth gold medal at the World Championships last night by thrashing old foe Steluta Duta of Romania 16-6 in the light fly weight 48kg finals.
Dubbed 'Magnificent Mary' by the International Boxing Association for her historic feat, the diminutive counter-puncher is the only woman boxer to have clinched a medal in each of the six World Championships, starting with a silver in the inaugural edition in 2001.

"I am overwhelmed and don't even know how to describe what it feels like. I am just so happy to have done it," the former Khel Ratna awardee told PTI in an interview after the unprecedented feat.

Balancing a demanding training schedule with the responsibility of being the mother of two young children is not easy but with women's boxing finding a place in the 2012 Olympics, Mary Kom said has a reason to continue doing the tough twin jobs.

"It's very demanding and emotionally draining to leave my sons behind for competing and training. But I have somehow managed to do it so far and hopefully I will continue doing it till at least the London Olympics. I want to win an Olympic medal, don't want to go before doing that. That's my dream," she said.

"I know age would be a factor but if I continue to train hard and remain fit, I think, I would be able to compete and win a medal," she added. Women's boxing would make its debut at the London Olympics in three weight categories -- flyweight (48-51kg), lightweight (56-60kg) and middleweight (69-75kg). Mary Kom will have to bulk up substantially for the fly weight division but she is confident of coming through.

"Putting on weight and adjusting to it is always tough but since I would be giving trials for the November Asian Games in the same division, I think I will have enough to time to adjust," she said.

Talking about her bout last night, Mary Kom said she could feel the pressure of expectations but was never nervous against Duta, whom she had beaten in the World Championship finals of 2006 and 2008 as well.

Lara Dutta tie knot Bhupathi

Lara Dutta tie knot Bhupathi

It's official - Lara Dutta and tennis star Mahesh Bhupathi are engaged. The news was confirmed by Lara today (September 19) who tweeted a smiley face before retweeting what Mahesh had posted on his Twitter page - "So DuttaLara and me got engaged in NY last week. Its official now.."

While Lara had tweeted about her New York trip, there'd been nothing to show that an engagement was on the cards, though the couple have been seeing each other for a while now.

Lara had written earlier this week, "Catching up with friends and visiting my old neighbourhood in NYC! The cup cakes at Magnolia r still the best by far! I love this city!! Finished a 7am boot camp class in NYC! Came crawling out of it! Thought I was going 2 pass out, but survived!! Cupcake as reward! ;-)"

News that Lara was involved with the then married Mahesh broke in 2009. Neither of them spoke about the rumours though Mahesh filed for divorce from former model Shveta Jaishankar.

Then on February 27 this year, Lara and Mahesh made their first official appearance as a couple at the Filmfare Awards in Mumbai.

Later, Mahesh moved from Bangalore to Mumbai, rented a place very close to Lara's house in the Bandra suburb, and she got the place ready for him to move in. She was the one who decided on the interiors of the house, and also organised getting essential electronic equipment fixed there.

Later they also attended the IIFA awards in Sri Lanka in June together.

Around this time, Mahesh's ex-wife Shveta claimed in an interview to a magazine in India that he cheated on her with Lara while they were married. And she's also said it was not the first time that Mahesh had strayed. Shvetha added that if Mahesh could do what he did to her, he could do the same with Lara in the future
